fraymedia Foundation is excited to launch the #AfricaThroughHerLens visual campaign — to showcase the everyday power, creativity, and perspectives of African women behind the camera. #AfricaThroughHerLens is a powerful visual heritage campaign celebrating African women who are telling their stories through the lens. Let’s honour African women behind the camera, and those in front of it too — by creating a living archive of visual storytelling that reflects the world as we see it.

Join the social media campaign this Africa Week!

From 25-31 May 2025, we’ll be spotlighting the work of African women photographers, videographers, filmmakers, visual artists, journalists — and everyday storytellers — who capture the richness of life, culture, and creativity on the continent, from a range of countries including and not limited to South Africa, Kenya, DRC, Zimbabwe, Angola, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Malawi.
This campaign isn’t just about what we share — it’s about what YOU share.
Here's how you can get involved:
1. Follow us on Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn @fraymediafoundation
2. Post your own photo or video showing your life, your work, your culture — through your eyes
3. Use the hashtag #AfricaThroughHerLens and tag @fraymediafoundation so we can share your story
4. Engage with others — like, comment, repost, and celebrate the diversity of perspectives
Your lens. Your story. Your Africa.
